AP PREP or DSST PREP
Study Journal cover
Both the AP and DSST testing programs offer exams in Environmental Science. Choose the one that best suits your needs. (NOTE: AP exams are for high school students only.)
High school students may take AP exams without taking AP courses. However, if you are interested in AP tests, you may want to first consider checking to see if your state has a virtual school program that offers AP courses. If not, the following resources can help you study for the AP Environmental Science Exam.

More information from the AP/College Board.
Complete your studies and take the DSST or AP exam, or take the StraighterLine Environmental Science course for 3 college credits.

Important Note: The AP course outline includes the following: "Colleges often require students to present their laboratory materials from AP science courses before granting college credit for laboratory, so students should be encouraged to retain their laboratory notebooks, reports, and other materials." This website - AP Environmental Science Course Material - provides lab activity and ideas in addition to the lab link above, but understand that some would require the purchase of lab materials. Note also that this pertains to receiving laboratory credit. Check with your college or university of choice to see if this is a requirement.

Recommended Course of Study
Choose one of the two exams, either AP or DSST, and tailor your studies to the exam outline. Complete the Georgia Virtual course. Download the Habitable Planet textbook (found here) and plan a reading schedule. Watch the Habitable Planet videos and explore the visuals and interactive labs. Complete the activities at the HippoCampus site. Use any of the additional resources as needed. Finish with the practice quizzes and take one or more of the final exams.
Note: If you have access to a public library, you should borrow environmental science books for additional reading. Consider visiting the children's section for "quick-read" books on specific topics such as "Air Quality" or "Water Usage."
