About MeHello. I'm Jennifer. Jenni to my friends and Jen to my family. I'll answer to any of those, so take your pick. I've also been known to answer to "Hey, you!" and "Mooooooooommmmm!" on occasion.
After nearly 10 years of homeschooling on a tiny budget, I decided to share what I've learned (sometimes the very hard way!) with other families who want to provide the best education for their children, even without a huge bank account behind them. |
When I first launched the original HC USA three years ago, it was often mistaken for either 1) an actual school, or 2) a business of some kind. Homeschool College USA is not a school. It provides resources, not transcripts! It is also not a business with any sort of budget. I pay Weebly for their pro-web hosting out of my own pocket. (Or, to be more accurate, out of my husband's pocket. He's the other part of the "we" here at HC USA.) Advertising for this site is strictly word-of-mouth and all the work behind running it is volunteer on my part, since I don't charge anyone for anything. There are some affiliate links on some of the pages, but they link to products and courses that are strictly optional, and no one is under any obligation to use any of them.
In 2010, I went back to school myself, to earn a second degree from Thomas Edison State College. My husband and two teens are now all working on their own degrees. By the time all is said and done, as a family, we will have spent less for four fully-accredited college degrees than many people pay for one. Homeschool College USA can show you how you can do the same.
I do my best to answer all email inquiries in a timely manner. I appreciate any comments and suggestions sent my way, and ask that if you find any broken links, you take a few moments to let me know.
If you live in the central Florida/Orlando/Tampa area and would like me to speak to your homeschool co-op or support group, I give two-hour presentations that cover the basics of homeschooling college and earning credits through exams and online sources. You can contact me to arrange a date and time or learn more.
