ART - DRAWING
HIGH SCHOOL COURSE (1 SEMESTER)

PRIMARY SOURCES:

Drawspace drawing lessons  (Requires free registration to view lessons online.)
Drawing lessons
Drawing and painting lessons (Scroll down the screen for a menu bar of lessons, including pencil drawing, oils, pastels, and more.)
Drawing basics
The Elements of Drawing (iTunes podcast)

OPTIONAL:

You may want to consider purchasing a drawing book if you are a serious student of the topic. KEYS TO DRAWING comes highly recommended, and is listing on Amazon used for about $9. (You may want to also check eBay or other sources.) This book, or any others, are not required. Also, please note, this link is provided for reference. It is not an affiliate link and no one at HC USA is making money by referring you to it.

Recommended Course of Study:

Begin by visiting each of the free websites listed and choosing one that suits your preferences. Work through the individual lessons and build a portfolio of work. You do not need to purchase expensive supplies to complete this course. Blank paper and regular No. 2 pencils are fine to start. If you would like to experiment with different art/drawing pencils, you can find inexpensive sets at Wal-Mart or craft stores. (Check out the "Artist's Loft" brand at Michael's for various pencil sets at a reasonable price.)

No tests/exams are included for this course. If desired, grades can be assigned to the finished lessons.

Note: If you have access to a public library, you should borrow drawing books for additional practice.
